Friday Round-Up

  • There’s a lot on my plate over the next six weeks or so.
  • Less than a week until Renewing the City: Gospel Movements and Urban Church Planting.  I’m looking forward to learning from City to City.
  • The first ever Ecclesia Network Midsouth Regional Gathering is just around the corner. I hope you’ll drop in to Space12 for Everyday Theology.
  • At the end of October, I’ll head to Pasadena for the last two classes of the MAGL.  I’ve got a lot of reading to do….
  • I’m sad that Newsroom is over for the season, but thankfully, West Wing is now on Amazon streaming.
  • Having just finished reading Dallas Willard’s The Great Omission, I’ve been thinking a lot about my need for solitude. So…
  • I’m trying to line up a personal retreat for the next weekend.  Get away where all I can do is read, write and pray.  If you know a cabin in the woods within a few hours of Austin, I’d love to hear from you.
  • Got some great Facebook interaction in regard to this week’s Before You Go Missional post.
  • This confirmed what I’ve been seeing all over the place, which is people are really using the word “disciple making.”  Which begs the question: what do people mean by disciple making?
  • This week’s remembrances brought me back to a post I wrote about Osama bin Ladin about a year ago.
  • I’m writing this while listening to John Mark McMillan’s latest.  I’m so glad there are artists like him.
