It was very smooth, and had that distinct cold-brewed flavor to it. Hardly a hint of bitterness at all.

There’s only room enough for 3/4 a cup of water and the proportional amount of grounds to fit comfortably in an inverted Aeropress, though, so it made a very small amount. To taste, it only really made enough for one 10 or 12oz cup, which is disappointing because I was hoping it would be a way to use the Aeropress without consuming nearly the amount of coffee it normally does. Part of the issue might have been the use of light-roast beans, which doesn’t taste very strong hot-brewed, even when it is. Maybe a finer grind would make it stronger as well.

I had a friend who would cold-brew a pound at a time, using the same grounds three times. The firs time he’d cut it with about 3/4 water, the second time about half, and the third time he would drink it straight. I’m giving yesterday’s grounds a round two before I try a finer grind.

I’ve wondered about home-brewing some cold-brew. Maybe I’ll try it in my Aeropress. I know it has a different set of flavors than the same grounds would hot-brewed. Do you do it in the fridge or just on the counter-top?

I’m also in favor of supporting local roasters if you have the budget for it . Fresh roasted is so much better. :) K-cups will always fail there imho.
