Thanks for the reply, Luke.  I had a ministry role when I started.  Things changed.  I was just wondering if anyone had tips.  I appreciate the reply.

Different schooling for different folks with different callings who are and will be different parts of the Body. We shouldn’t say that one is more necessary or more missional than the other (necessarily). The trouble with Christian Academia tends to be the same as any other field of study: It’s Academia. It is important, but it does create a separation from the real world. My hope is the folks like Chris can fill a hole between the traditional degrees/vocations and the lay-person, who should be the ones church-leaders are equipping for mission in the first place (Ephesians 4:12.)

Or a partnership with a vocational school, so you leave with a marketable trade?  As far as church jobs go, even if we’ve got another 30 years worth, I think we’ll see a crisis in staffing, as fewer and fewer millennials will even want those job. Check out “What if the kids don’t want our Church” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/derek-penwell/what-if-the-kids-dont-want-our-church_b_2902781.html).

Looking forward to catching up and hearing how the MAGL works out for you!
