Couple of years later, I was talking to our youth group and suggested that they, perhaps, make friends with some of the non-Christians in their school.
“I don’t think my parents would like that.  I mean, after all, we need to make sure we don’t have any bad influences in our lives.”
I’m like… Really?  If you’re THAT scared about your kids strength of faith, the problem then is not the people they MIGHT hang out with, but with your own parenting and discipling of your kids…  I didn’t say it out loud, but… really? *sigh*

Would you believe that I was taken to task in a Sunday School class a few years ago for suggesting that, perhaps, as Christians seeking to reach the world, that maybe.,.. just maybe… we should hang out in a bar every now and then?
