A missional hospitality party for the least? A bigger celebration because we know we have bigger things to celebrate?
The thing is that for many in the world the celebration is the point: the party is the point of the party. It’s empty because they have nothing really worthy to celebrate about, so they go at it with religious gusto. For the believer, things worth celebrating are ultimate, but until the consummation the celebrations themselves are penultimate. I don’t know if we’ll ever celebrate with as much visible pizzazz as those for whom celebration itself is the ultimate.
Definitely interesting to think about though.
