Live from “True North”

As we speak, I’m sitting in a seminar named True North.  I wrote the material for True North with the help of a great team of volunteers at Journey Fellowship.  My co-worker Mario Gallegos is facilitating.

The purpose of True North is to help individuals discover the passions, personality, spiritual gifts and place of service that God has given them.

We’ve all experienced being in a job, a city or a place of service that’s a bad fit.  You can work all day and night develop skills, and maybe you’ll get better at it.  But if it’s a bad fit, there’s a low ceiling, but you’ll only get so far.  Experiencing the opposite is rare and beatiful: finding a task that you’re really good at, and you enjoy doing it.

Scripture that God has shaped you to be who you are.  Your life experience has also taught you skills and abilities.  The Bible also teaches that at our re-birth, God gives us a new set of spiritual gifts.  Understanding these different parts of your make up is a key to doing your best at work, home, church and relationships.

Have you found True North?
