Friday Round Up

This is kind of an old school blogging trick, but I figured I’d give it a try here.

  • My roommate Bryan has been playing Meatloaf’s Anything For Love constantly. The list of things I wouldn’t do is getting smaller…
  • The best thing to come of Lent so far has been giving up watching TV alone. I get so much more sleep.
  • Reading to graphic novels I somehow missed a few years back, 52 and Transmetropolitan.
  • I’ve been mesmerized by the audiobook/radio play of Dune I’ve been listening to.  I’ve also been hyperconscious of how I use water.
  • Wondering why bicycle jerseys are so expensive.
  • Spent Wednesday night in the woods and slept under the stars.
  • Just finished my first Henri Nouwen book Spiritual Direction.  Poignant, practical and personal.  Will need a reread.
  • Found a copy of Switch on audiobook.  Also considering Seth Godin’s latest.
  • Finally unpacked a bunch of boxes of books.  Feels like home.
  • Looking forward to having Hugh Halter and Matt Smay in Austin next week.
  • The Other F Word” Sounds like a fascinating documentary.
  • My favorite heretic argues against determinism and shows how you can believe in God without denying evolution.
  • Speaking of perceived heretics, you probably wouldn’t like Iconocast, so I won’t tell you to listen to their interviews with Stanley Hauerwas or Cornel West.
