From Chicago

I’m posting this from the Windy City itself.  I’ve come up here primarily to take part in a few events, but I’ll be doing a few other things while I’m here.  Here’s my to do list and my wish list:

Lincoln Park Apple Store One of the cool things about my job is that I can call up a fellow store in another city in and spend the day with them.  I’m excited to learn how they do things here.

The Future of the Seminary As a bit of kick-off event for the MLC, Northern Seminary and 3DM are hosting a conversation based on the question: Seminary-Is It Working?  Being a part of an innovative seminary program myself, and having a desire to some day teach on the seminary level, I am excited to take part in this discussion.

3DM Taster I first encountered Mike Breen’s work in 2005 at the North Atlanta Church of Christ.  We used the LifeShapes curicullum to help teach our community what it meant to be disciple.  Mike has been a trailblazer in working in post-Christendom, having planted a network of churches across the UK.

Missional Learning Commons Sponsored by Ecclesia Network, the MLC is an innovative learning environment where Ecclesia planters and pastors gather to hone their skills.  From the looks of it, this will be less of a “sage on the stage” kind of conference and more of a “guide on the side” learning experience.  I’m excited to learn more about Ecclesia, and from what Mike and the other facilitators have to offer.

On my wish list while I’m here is  a slice of deep dish from Giordano’s Pizza, a torta from XOCO, and check out shows from the NeoFuturists and Second City.

What else should I do?
