On a serious note, here’s a short post I made on Facebook last night.
My college was a strange place, which often seemed dedicated to maintaining old fashioned southern culture, in the name of Christ. A few brave souls rose above the arguing to teach us about God’s Kingdom. One was Ken Neller. He lost his life today, way too soon.
God used men like him to hold on to me, and I will be forever grateful.
On a more quotidian note…
- Going to see Mike Birbiglia’s live show of Sleepwalk with Me tonight.
- My friend and roommate Trevor is writing again. You can find a great post he wrote about on what happens if you uses the tools of Instagram in your faith.
- I am thrilled to have had the chance to speak at my home church Vox Veniae this past Sunday. You can listen to it on their podcast or on my soundcloud.
- I’m using the Streaks app to track my progress on creating new habits.
- One of the reads I’m most excited for is David FItch and Geoff Holsclaw‘s Prodigal Christianity: 10 Signposts into the Missional Frontier. I’ve had the chance to meet them through Ecclesia Network, and I am fascinating by their uncompromising attempt to live out a different type of church leadership at Life on the Vine.
